About Me

By day I am a Business owner, Mother and wife, house cleaner, taxi driver and laundress, obtaining physical health through raw food nutrition; this being my personal challenge. Actually I love cooking and learning new things, I am an on & off raw Foodist to help me with my Systemic Lupus; however I do eat raw fish and sometimes raw dairy. I guess I would consider myself a "raw pescatarian" aside from the occasional raw goats milk / cheese once in a blue moon.

Internet down today!

From my cell phone:
Internet down today! Been doing decent. been HAPPY and feling real good. No joint pain, little swelling. maybe off my Alleve medicine soon. More later!

OK It's later now and I'm on the internet YAY!!
I have been feeling GOOD lately, not sure if it's due to hormones (I started...sssshhh!!!) Which brings me to another oddity;  (Men, forego the remainder of this paragraph.  Fair warning.) I am typically 23 days for the last uh, maybe .. year? ish?  maybe less.  but this month I was almost 30days!  Whoa!  That makes my husband happy anyway! He's been like HONEY when are you ever NOT on your period??  (are there men reading this? WTF are you doing here??)

So I made the most amazing nutmilk ever yesterday;  I decided to take the skins off the soaked almonds before blending (easy as pie once they're soaked; it's just time consuming since it's one at a time) and I blended them up and it was like NIIICE and white and easy SUPER easy to strain.  I even bought some super-fine mesh to strain the milk and it was STILL super easy to strain...  I'm not going back to the old way again!  AND I hear you can make stuff with the remaining pulp-  I've saved mine from yesterday but I don't know what on earth to do with it...  haven't had time to research it yet.

I've definitely been happier, feeling healthy, energy levels remain constant despite my major decline in animal meats.  I have had the random bite of stuff here and there, since I cook for my family but I haven't had the major craving for cooked stuff.   I don't want to risk tossing the raw thing out the window and getting to feeling bad again.  I've made great progress so far and I'm stoked that my mind is quite set on the raw path, so much so that I don't ever contemplate making something other than my normal raw stuff.   As long as I keep healthy stuff in my fridge to draw from, I think I'll be good...

Today;  Cold cereal with nutmilk and a coffee made with nutmilk and raw chocolate with honey to sweeten
Lunch- Salad with spring greens, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, pine nuts, bee pollen (love that stuff!) some goat cheese (not raw) with the remainder of my raw dressing I made some time ago.  Noticed a pronounced garlic flavor in it, and remembered that raw garlic will continue to strengthen in flavor and aroma over time.  Use it sparingly unless you want to keep the boys at bay!  ;-)
