About Me

By day I am a Business owner, Mother and wife, house cleaner, taxi driver and laundress, obtaining physical health through raw food nutrition; this being my personal challenge. Actually I love cooking and learning new things, I am an on & off raw Foodist to help me with my Systemic Lupus; however I do eat raw fish and sometimes raw dairy. I guess I would consider myself a "raw pescatarian" aside from the occasional raw goats milk / cheese once in a blue moon.

Giving it another go

Aah, with the holidays past, I am ready to give Raw Fooding another go. Unfortunately my body needs me to again; I feel it in many ways that I won't go into here.
My primary objection with this blog is to
a) Share with you and in the same fashion record for myself what odd things I'm eating / making;
b) record my body's symptoms and improvements:
c) inspire better health for whatever readers may follow.

MY SYMPTOMS:
I have Systemic Lupus, and I'm on meds for life although have been able to pare down with doctors suggestion. I finally found 100% relief after going Raw Vegan for a year- I felt better results after only a couple months being raw. (it's been years ago; don't quote me.)

My symptoms that I'd like to see relieved, from most to least important, are:
Joint pain
General skin and hair health (always had skin on the dry side)
General Disposition (I'm MUCH happier on Raw, it's scary!)
Waking up happy (literally. This is a HUGE perk of being raw for me!)

There are random other minor things that I hope to see improvement in too, but not important enough to list.

January 1st I made a hearty tomato sauce in the Vitamix with Tomatoes, olive oil, sundried tomatoes, basil, garlic, oregano, dates, salt and pepper. I blended the crap out of it til it was smooth & creamy. I shredded a zucchini with a citrus zester- yes, a zester! I had long strands of "spaghetti" with the tomato sauce, two helpings and went to bed feeling good.

Jan 2nd I woke up, had some raw Ahi Tuna that was leftover from New years Eve, with green onion and soy (nama shoyu). Not a great breakfast, but it was "There" and raw and fresh and actually super yummy. Loved the onion flavor that bursted in my mouth. Ate sushi rolls at work, (you know, the ends and stuff that aren't pretty enough to sell... SOMEBODY'S gotta eat 'em!) and came home later to make Almond milk out of almond butter (first try, suggested from www.rawpirategourmet.com) and it actually turned out GOOD!) I was thinking GREAT, this stuff is gonna turn out like drinking frickin' peanut butter flavored water, but it's NOT! Amazing. Had a bowl of raw-ish sorta kinda cereal with banana in it and the nut milk. I still like making my own. Hm. I should post recipes on the side. can I do it on the side? literally on the side of my blog page? heck idunno. I'm off. see you tomorrow. maybe.
