By day I am a Business owner, Mother and wife, house cleaner, taxi driver and laundress, obtaining physical health through raw food nutrition; this being my personal challenge. Actually I love cooking and learning new things, I am an on & off raw Foodist to help me with my Systemic Lupus; however I do eat raw fish and sometimes raw dairy. I guess I would consider myself a "raw pescatarian" aside from the occasional raw goats milk / cheese once in a blue moon.

Real Live Breakfast Oatmeal


I made this today; it's Breakfast Oatmeal, from Juliano's book "Raw";
Soak 1/4 c raisins and about a cup of oats (rolled oats, raw) for about an hour; I put warm water in to help soften; When water is absorbed, drain any excess.
Toss about a cup of fruits of your choice in the blender.
Add the oats. I added blueberries & raspberries and two pitted dates. Blend and eat as is, or pour a bit of nutmilk over the top.
This is interesting to me, as the consistency is so creamy that I'm curious if it could freeze into an ice cream type dessert... it almost made a "gel" which I have a feeling would freeze well if blended even smoother. Ima gonna try it!
